Modern and contemporary figurative paintings show John’s Scottish models, and some from China, draped and some nude as they pose in the studio, garden, on the beach and in bedroom. Scottish models are also captured in the Romantic Paintings page and are present in his Lady in Red series exploring life around Dundee, the City of Discovery.
John uses acrylic, watercolour, pastel and oil paints for his painting mediums, and is also happy to accept private commissions for pets, people, holidays, figurative paintings and any other topic.

“Emily One” acrylic, 14 × 10 inches
Emily One is an acrylic figure study with Scottish model Emily who posed for quite a few of my figurative paintings. She is an excellent model and has an ability to pose with great sensuality. These two figure paintings of Emily were painted with very loose brush strokes both on the figure as well as back ground. This gives the painting a modern image with a contemporary style.
