Modern and contemporary figurative paintings show John’s Scottish models, and some from China, draped and some nude as they pose in the studio, garden, on the beach and in bedroom. Scottish models are also captured in the Romantic Paintings page and are present in his Lady in Red series exploring life around Dundee, the City of Discovery.
John uses acrylic, watercolour, pastel and oil paints for his painting mediums, and is also happy to accept private commissions for pets, people, holidays, figurative paintings and any other topic.

“Feeling the Warmth” acrylic, 20 × 16 inches
Feeling the Warmth is a figurative painting with a nude model posing on the bed allowing her long hair to hang over the edge. The warm skin tones on her back come from the studio lights bouncing off the bed clothes. The background is kept dark to contrast with the warm colours on the models skin.
