Modern and contemporary figurative paintings show John’s Scottish models, and some from China, draped and some nude as they pose in the studio, garden, on the beach and in bedroom. John captures a sensual mood with his models using lights in a darkened artist studio so the models pose is more a sensual pose rather than an erotic model pose. The directional lights also create brilliant reflected lights on the model. Scottish models are also captured in the Romantic Paintings page and are present in his Lady in Red series exploring life around Dundee, the City of Discovery.

John uses acrylic, watercolour, pastel and oil paints for his painting mediums, and is also happy to accept private commissions for pets, people, holidays, figurative paintings and any other topic.

“Temptation” oil, 36 × 24 inches

Temptation was the final painting in oils from my Scottish model Emily, after she did many poses on the bed with different lights and pose positions. The six best images were painted in watercolours then the best of these chosen for a large wall art painting in oils. Emily posed scantily clad to add some eroticism. A perfect painting for collectors of sensual and erotic art and perfect for a wall art with impact to catch the eye.
