John’s allotment garden at City Road in Dundee has given him plenty of ideas for both summer and winter landscape paintings around City Road Allotment Gardens with pots, water barrels, wheelbarrows, ramshackle sheds and broken down fences and drifts of wild flowers adding to the artistic drama. Alyth Burn runs through the middle of Alyth Den and is a favourite for locals walking into the wild countryside. Some parts are deep enough for a wee swim for local kids. This view captured on canvas after a heavy snowstorm shows the beauty of the den as a winter wonderland snow scene.
